You Don’t Reward Bad Behaviour

I absolutely cannot believe that I’m pulling together an entry that is based on something that was said by the hick hack himself. But please, bear with me.

“You don’t reward bad behaviour”. The good doctor said this in an interview in the wake of the Britney Spears MTV VMA abomination and for once, he actually made sense. What Dr. Phil was referring to is the fact that celebrities behaving badly are celebrated in the mass media. This incessant coverage is what Dr. Phil refers to as the reward essentially because of the reasoning that all publicity is good publicity.

The good doctor was also quick to point out that not rewarding bad behaviour is a basic psychological principle and it is often neglected in the dealings with celebrities.

Imagine if you rewarded your dog every time it bit somebody. I’m sure you would be pissed off if it ended up biting you. I am inclined to believe that the same applies to that bitch Britney.
