アイロンマンの世界中での総興行収入は約５億８千万ドルで、アイロンマンの続編を作る話もすでに出ています。 ロバート・ダウニィJr.はすでにマーベルスタジオとアイロンマンの続編を続々編のために契約を結びました。彼のファンの皆さんにとってこれは喜ばしいニュースです。 続編の第一段階は着々と進んでいるということです。 もっと良いニュースはトニー・ストークと彼の分身は新しい映画、ザ・アベンジャーズに主演します。 アイロンマンの企画はかなり進んでいます。 そしてドン・チードルがジェームズ・ロード中佐を演じることになっています。ダウニィが出演すると確認されたわけではありませんが、ジョン・ファブローが映画を監督する予定で、彼はザ・アベンジャーズのプロデューサーも行うことになっています。映画はマーベルの主なキャラクター、アイロンマン、ハルク、キャプテンアメリカ、トールが出演予定です。アイロンマン２は2010年5月7日に公開される予定です。ザ・アベンジャーズの公開予定は2011年7月15日。2008年の後半はダウニィをベン・スティラーとともにトロピックサンダーで見られます。
